Barbara Sands, MA Ed, Administration and Human Resources Director

Barbara began her professional career as an elementary school teacher in New York.

After teaching for a number of years she became a “stay at home mom” and along with her husband raised their daughters to become educated and independent women. After moving to the Boston area she was employed by Project Accept and worked with children with special needs in Ashland.

After a career shift, Barbara worked at several International Data Group subsidiaries including Computerworld, a technology media company, in many administrative roles. During a span of eighteen years, she gained experience in training, recruitment, office management and human resources.

Now returning full circle, Barbara has returned to her roots in education at Crossroads School. Almost since the school’s inception, she has worked as an administrative assistant, office manager and now as an Administration and HR Director.

Barbara received both her undergraduate (B.S.) and graduate (M.A.Ed.) degrees in education from Hofstra University in New York. In addition, she has attended many management training classes as well as achieved two certificates in Human Resources from A.I.M. in Boston.

In her free time, Barbara enjoys being with her family, especially her three young grandchildren.
