Education Services
Position: Special Education Teacher
Reports to: Program or Education Director
Status: Exempt, salaried
Position Summary: Supervises the classroom students and staff. Demonstrate an understanding of ABA and proper implementation of the technique of Applied Behavior Analysis. Act as a team leader and positive role model for all staff and students. Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Performs assessments in areas of cognitive, social, and behavioral skills to determine individual educational needs.
• Develops Individual Educational Plans (IEP) outlining goals and objectives needed for the formation of cognitive, social and behavioral skills.
• Submits documentation to supervisors in a timely manner. Analize program changes submitted within the set deadline. Carries out the program changes.
• Collects and conducts daily analysis for assigned student programming.
• Develops Progress Reports quarterly for each child.
• Implements Standard Behavior Management protocols and Behavior Plans for each student.
• Monitors student progress and provide additional IEP mandates during the school year if necessary.
• Acts as the primary contact for parents and maintain written and direct communication daily.
• Employs strategies of C.A.L.M curriculum which may include utilizing protective measures.
• Coordinates Student Day with parents and staff.
• Plans daily program in conjunction with speech/language therapist, OT, PT, and ABA Counselors.
• Directs, trains, and supervises classroom ABA Counselors. May need to work with volunteers and interns as well.
• Participates in staff meetings.
• Follows individual student MCAS testing outlined by the DOE.
• Participates in on-going professional conferences to further enhance education and knowledge of ABA.
• Responsible for the organization and the presentation of the classroom.
Educational Qualifications and Necessary Skills:

Status: Non Exempt, hourly
Position Summary: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist in providing therapeutic or instructive support to program students. This individual must demonstrate an understanding of ABA and proper implementation of the technique of Applied Behavioral Analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepares necessary materials for individual student education program.
• Conducts teaching/behavioral strategies based on the teacher's lesson plans.
• Prepares raw data collection forms, continually updating programmatic changes as directed by the special education teacher.
• Collects daily performance and behavior data for assigned students.
• Attends analysis meetings for students assigned to a specific team.
• Utilizes assistive technology to aid instruction.
• Communicates daily with teacher and administrators as needed.
• Attends all workshops given by Program Director, Education DIrector and other specialists, reviewing theory and techniques.
• Attends school supported activities as required.
• Participates in planning time with classroom team.
• Participates in team meetings and staff meetings.
• Assists in the daily organization and clean-up of the classroom and other school areas as assigned.
• Effectively communicates with team regarding student and program needs.
• Communication with the parent. as directed by the classroom teacher.

Educational Qualifications and Necessary Skills:
• Some college courses are requested. College graduate is preferred with a degree in education or other related degree from a recognized and accredited two or four year program.
• Experience working with children with autism or other special needs is preferred.
• Able to use a computer for data collection and reporting updated graphs.
• Able to physically restrain a child if needed.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the special needs of children on the autism spectrum.
Occupational Therapy
Position: Occupational Therapist
Report to: Education Director
Status: Exempt, Salaried
Position Summary: Provides occupational therapy for students on caseload. Demonstrate an understanding of ABA and proper implementation of the technique of Applied Behavior Analysis. Act as a team leader and positive role model for all staff and students.
• Performs in depth assessments and evaluation of new students with regard to physical therapy in order to determine programming needs.
• Plans and implements daily OT programming.
• Develops OT goals and objectives for IEP, completes quarterly progress.
• Monitors student's progress and makes amendments to IEP if necessary.
• Maintains continual written and direct communication with parents with regards to OT.
• Coordinate schedule to accommodate Student Day.
• Submit documentation to supervisors in a timely manner. Analysis program changes submitted with the set deadlines. Carry out program changes.
• Participates in parent conferences, IEP meetings, trainings, staff meetings, consistency meetings, and analysis meetings.
• Develop Progress Reports for each student, quarterly.
• Attends appropriate professional conferences recommended and authorized by the executive director.
• Collects and conducts daily analysis for assigned student's programming including behavior data.
• Enter performance data in computer and provide updated graphs for weekly meetings.

Educational Qualifications and Skills:

Health Services
Position: School Nurse
Report to: Clinical Director
Status: Exempt, salaried
Position Summary: The School Nurse acts as a care provider, advocate, change agent, manager and educator to provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student. The School Nurse collaborates with parents, educators, and community health care professionals to provide quality health care to students in the school community. School nurses are accountable to practice in accordance with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act and state regulation.
• Conducts and/or coordinates all aspects of school health services.
• Assumes responsibility for selections and referral of students in need of medical and dental care.
• Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school health matters.
• Maintains up-to-date health records on students.
• Observes students on a regular basis to detect health needs.
• Performs special health procedures and assists students with administration of medication as necessary.
• Participates with school staff in developing and implementing the total school health program.
• Advises on modification of the education program to meet health needs of individual students.
• Prepares and submits reports for the Executive and/or Program Director as necessary.
• Advises the Executive and/or Program Director and families of infectious and contagious diseases.
• Advises Teachers and families on health matters, particularly regarding student health.
Educational Qualifications and Skills:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Three years experience in pediatric, community health, or school nursing.
• Valid Massachusetts nursing license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Physically able to perform the aspects of the job and respond quickly in case of an emergency situation with staff and students.
• Organizational skills must be exceptionally strong.
