Mission Statement

Crossroads School for Children's goal is to provide a well rounded, balanced, results driven education for individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorders utilizing the techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Crossroads is committed to developing individualized educational plans that will support, challenge and assist students in reaching their greatest potential across all domains.

Crossroads Teaching Style

At Crossroads, we understand that every student is different. That is why each of our programs is customized in direct correlation with the needs of each individual student. Every specific objective is taught and reinforced in a consistent, systematic manner that falls on or within each of the following phases:

Discrete Trial Training/Task Analysis Training: A phase of teaching whereby a certain skill/complex behavior is broken down into small components, then portrayed to the student in order to teach them step by step and elicit an appropriate response. This type of trial training allows the child to take in and understand small pieces of a larger concept.
Fluency Training: A phase that teaches the student to respond more automatically, which in turn increases accuracy and independence.
Generalization Training: A phase in which materials, settings and language are purposely changed to ensure the student has a true grasp of the skill within a natural, everyday environment.

Crossroads offers all the teaching elements of a program needed to support a child on the spectrum. All of our programs are based upon rich, in-depth data that drive true, validating results.

Crossroads is a Department of Education (DOE) approved private school for children with special needs.
