The Early Years: Establishing a Record of Success

In response to the need for a behavior analytic school for students with autism, Crossroads Center for Children is established in August 2002 with the support of Crossroads Center for Children, based in Glenville, NY.

2002

No longer requiring support from Crossroads Center for Children (NY), Crossroads School for Children concludes its start-up phase, becomes its own entity, and moves to Natick, MA.

2006

Crossroads School for Children expands to serve students ages 17 – 22. With the addition of a program for young adults, it is no longer a school exclusively for children, therefore, the name is shortened to Crossroads School.

2008

Becoming a Multi-Service Organization

Recognizing that many students need additional support at home, Crossroads School begins providing home-based services funded by school districts.

2014

To ensure the sustainability of the organization, Crossroads School hires their first Director of Development and begins establishing a culture of philanthropy.

2015

In April 2017, Crossroads School purchases property in Marlborough, MA to become the school's new permanent campus. Construction begins immediately and the 2017-2018 school year begins on the new campus in September.

2017

Continued Growth and Success

Crossroads School completes a capital campaign to build an adapted playground and outdoor recreational spaces, including the Prozinski Family Sport Court. DESE approved a census increase from 55 to 62.

2018

Crossroads Continuum continues providing virtual and hybrid services throughout the pandemic. our strong leadership develops innovative ways to continue learning. During this time, our organization also began a strategic planning process with support from the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation to plan for the organization's future.

2019

Volunteers spent a cold weekend building the playground which officially opened in May 2019. Community Solutions department expands services to include individuals not enrolled in Crossroads School, including former graduates and young children in need of daytime services.

2020

2021

In March, the Board of Trustees approves the Strategic Plan and presents it to the community. The plan outlines three high-impact goals for growth and sustainability of the organization. As a multi-service organization, the organization re-brands to Crossroads Continuum and leases an office in Hudson to provide more space for growth at Crossroads School and for other programs. Crossroads School hires first Senior Clinical Director to continue to improve outcomes for students.

2022

In 2022, Crossroads Continuum continues to work to fulfill our mission. We’ve increased the number of individuals we serve thanks to the development of out Discover, Elevate, and Commons programs. Sarah Palin, our first Chief Program Officer, was promoted to shepherd our growth and program expansion.
